In celebration of the official inauguration of International Cheongsam Association of Singapore (ICAS) on 28 April 2019 at Singapore Chinese Culture Center, Life Art Society and ICAS jointly present the art of cheongsam painting using eastern and western painting techniques.
9 artists from Life Art Society were invited to paint on silk instead of paper, using a different medium to showcase the beautiful artwork of the artists with eastern and western painting techniques to create stunning Cheongsam paintings. The cheongsam featuring orchid motifs were handpainted by the 9 artists and were put up for auction to raise funds for the association. Artists participating in the cheongsam painting are Life Art Society members namely, President, Professor Tan Khim Ser, Grace Chew, Benny Khong, Maurice Chan, Gladys Shan, Josephine Ho, Shirley Bok, Yang Shwn Fen and Seetha.
中西绘画与旗袍的艺术创作
为庆祝新加坡国际旗袍协会成立，更生美术研究会和新加坡国际旗袍协会于4月28日在新加坡华族文化中心举行了隆重的成立仪式，呈现了以中西合拼绘画技巧和旗袍成功结合的艺术创作。
新加坡高级政务部长沈颖女士为大会献词祝贺新加坡国际旗袍协会的成立。沈颖部长和更生美术研究会会长陈钦赐教授在成立仪式上联合创作书画。沈颖部长挥毫写了《吉祥如意》，更生陈教授随着音乐以神速的笔法添上了盛开的兰花，精彩绝伦的绘画风格让现场观众赞不绝口，兰花有节节高升君子之风的含义为2019旗袍文化成立仪式掀开序幕。
更生美术研究会有9位书画家受邀请以兰花为主题在旗袍上作画，以丝绸代替画纸，用另一种优美的方式呈现中华水墨和西洋画法在旗袍上。这9件作品售出所得款项将捐于该协会作为活动基金。参与旗袍绘画的9位书画家是更生美术研究会会长陈钦赐教授，周翠娥、邝劲荣、陈国良博士、單秋萍、何明钻、莫夏玲、楊淑芬、Seetha。
